Affinity health care

Dear Vadim:

I am just writing to let you know how helpful your agency has been to my family since my dad, Arthur, came home from the hospital. My mom had been caring for my dad, who has Alzheimer's disease, by herself. My sister and I would go over during the week to take her shopping and to do chores. After my dad was hospitalized for a fall in October, he came home and was not even able to get out of bed without help. He wasn't eating, and I never thought I would see my dad walk on his own again.

Your Agency was recommended by the social worker at St Peter's Hospital. When I called you, you immediately arranged to meet with my family to try and work out an arrangement to help my mom who was finally coming to the realization that she could no longer provide care for my dad alone. My mom is 77 years old and has been taking care of him for 4 years. A nursing home was the only other option and we did not want to have to resort to that.

It has been six weeks since you sent Helen to us. My mom calls her an "angel". She took control of the situation from the first day.. She knows exactly how to handle my dad, who can be very difficult at times because of this horrendous disease. She is extremely patient and kind and will even drive my parents to the store or doctor's appointments. She has also provided companionship for my mom and has really become part of the family.

Thank you again for all your help. Because of your agency, my dad is able to remain at home and is now walking on his own and eating again. Helen takes him out for a walk if he weather is nice and even though he is grumpy, we can tell he looks forward to seeing Helen in the morning.
